Product Description
How the YM-HS10 Heat Sealing Process Works: From Roll Film to Sealed Container
Learn how the YM-HS10 aluminum foil heat sealing machine works: container conveying, film feeding, four-head heat pressing, serrated cutting, and waste rewinding.

The YM-HS10 uses a contact heat-press process. A roll of film or aluminum foil is fed across the container mouth, heated sealing heads press the film onto the container rim, and a serrated knife cuts the film to the container shape.

Step 1: Container Conveying and Separation

Containers are placed on the conveyor and move toward the sealing station. A photoelectric eye detects incoming containers. When a container enters, the bottle separating head extends a stop plate to position it accurately under the sealing heads. The distance between devices can be adjusted according to container size. This alignment step is critical for wide-mouth containers, where a small offset can cause an incomplete seal.

Step 2: Film Feeding

A roll of film or aluminum foil is fed across the container mouth. The machine has two roll positions: one for the supply roll and one for waste film collection. The film feeding speed can be adjusted through the touchscreen. Film size should be 2–3 mm larger than the container neck diameter so that the sealed area fully covers the rim and the cut edge is clean.

Step 3: Heat Pressing

The heated sealing heads press down onto the film and container rim. The temperature, pressure, and dwell time determine how well the heat-seal layer melts and bonds to the container material. The YM-HS10 uses high-quality air cylinders to ensure stable chuck travel and accurate film positioning. Four heads press synchronously as standard, and up to eight heads can be customized.

Step 4: Serrated Cutting

After sealing, a sharp serrated knife cuts the film around the container mouth. The cut should be clean and fit the container rim. A dull knife or product buildup on the blade can cause ragged edges or incomplete separation. The cut edge affects the appearance of the finished package and the consumer’s opening experience.

Step 5: Waste Film Rewinding and Output

The waste film is rewound on the right side of the machine. This keeps the sealing area clear and simplifies waste handling. Sealed containers move out of the station for lid application, labeling, or packing. The machine has an automatic counting function and a complete alarm and pause system.

Key Variables That Affect Seal Quality

Temperature, pressure, dwell time, film type, film thickness, container rim cleanliness, and rim flatness all affect the seal. If the temperature is too low or dwell time too short, the seal may be weak. If the temperature is too high or dwell time too long, the film may burn or become difficult to peel. Product residue on the rim can prevent bonding. The YM-HS10 allows parameter adjustment, but the operator must confirm settings with the actual container and film.

FAQ

Does the sealing head touch the film and container?

Yes. This is a contact heat-press process. The heated head presses the film onto the container rim.

How is the film cut?

A serrated knife cuts the film around the container mouth after sealing.

What controls seal quality?

Temperature, pressure, dwell time, film compatibility, and rim cleanliness.

Can the machine run different container sizes?

Yes, within 50–250 mm, with adjustable device spacing and customizable heads.

What happens to the waste film?

It is rewound on the right side of the machine.
