Multifunctional YM320P Label Printer Sticker Machine Cardboard Boxs Bags And Flat Bottle On-line Printing Labeling Machine
YM320P Automatic Print & Apply Labeling Machine — Zebra-Powered Label Printing & Application in One Step
Product Overview

The YM320P Automatic Online Printing & Labeling Machine represents a fundamental shift in product labeling workflow. Traditional labeling requires two separate processes: pre-printing labels on an offline printer (often days or weeks in advance) and then loading those pre-printed labels onto a labeling machine for application. This two-step approach creates inventory management complexity, label waste when product information changes, and an inherent inability to print variable data — different batch codes, expiry dates, serial numbers, or QR codes — from one label to the next.

The YM320P eliminates this separation. It integrates a Zebra industrial-grade thermal transfer or direct thermal printer directly into the labeling machine, creating a unified print-and-apply system. Variable data — text, batch numbers, expiry dates, QR codes, barcodes, graphics, logos, even RFID encoding — is printed in real time, immediately before the label is applied. No pre-printed label inventory. No wasted labels when information changes. No manual label handling between printing and application.

This integration delivers three transformative benefits:

  • Real-Time Variable Data: Each label can carry unique information — serialized barcodes for traceability, batch-specific expiry dates, customer-specific QR codes for marketing engagement — printed milliseconds before application.

  • Zero Label Waste from Information Changes: When a batch number or expiry date changes, the YM320P prints the new data on the next label with no operator intervention. Compare this to pre-printed labels, where an entire roll becomes waste when product information changes.

  • Single-Machine Workflow: One operator, one machine, one step. Labels are printed and applied by the same system, eliminating the separate label printing, handling, storage, and loading steps of traditional labeling.

How the YM320P Works

The YM320P's print-and-apply process integrates printing and labeling into a continuous automated sequence:

Step 1 — Label Design & Data Input: The operator creates label templates on the 20-inch industrial all-in-one touchscreen PC using Zebra's official label design software. Variable data fields (batch numbers, dates, serial numbers) can be manually entered, imported from a database, or populated automatically from an upstream system (ERP, MES, WMS) via Ethernet, USB, or Wi-Fi connection.

Step 2 — Real-Time Printing: As products approach on the conveyor, the integrated Zebra industrial printer prints each label on demand. Print speed of 200-400mm/second means a typical 100mm × 50mm label prints in approximately 0.25-0.5 seconds. Print resolution options of 203, 300, or 600 DPI ensure sharp text, scannable barcodes, and clear graphics.

Step 3 — Label Transfer: The printed label is transferred from the printer's output to the labeling head's vacuum pickup plate. The label is held by vacuum suction, ensuring it remains flat and properly oriented.

Step 4 — Automatic Application: The labeling head extends, presses the label onto the product surface with controlled pressure, and retracts. Label placement accuracy is maintained by product sensors that detect the exact position of each item. For flat products (cartons, boxes, pouches), a tamp applicator presses the label directly onto the surface. For cylindrical products, a roll-on applicator wraps the label around the circumference.

Step 5 — Verification & Next Cycle: An optional vision inspection system verifies label placement and print quality. The conveyor advances the next product into position, and the cycle repeats — up to 100 labels per minute.

Product & Company FAQ
Product FAQ

Q: What is the difference between thermal transfer and direct thermal printing on the YM320P?

A: Direct thermal printing uses heat-sensitive labels that darken when heated — no ribbon required. It is cost-effective but the print may fade over time with heat or light exposure. Thermal transfer uses a heated ribbon to transfer ink onto the label — producing durable, long-lasting prints resistant to heat, light, chemicals, and abrasion. Thermal transfer is recommended for products with long shelf lives, exposure to harsh environments, or where label permanence is critical (pharmaceutical, chemical, outdoor products). The YM320P can be configured for either method.

Q: Can the YM320P print different information on every label?

A: Yes — this is the defining capability of the print-and-apply system. Each label can carry unique data: sequential serial numbers, unique QR codes for consumer engagement, product-specific batch codes, or variable expiry dates. The data can come from the HMI, a connected database, or an upstream ERP/MES/WMS system.

Q: What types of labels can the YM320P handle?

A: The Zebra printer handles self-adhesive (pressure-sensitive) labels on a release liner. Label materials include: paper (standard), polypropylene (durable, moisture-resistant), polyester (chemical-resistant, outdoor durability), and specialty materials (tamper-evident, high-temperature, cryogenic). Label width: 50-174mm. For applications requiring labels outside this range, contact our engineering team.

Q: How does the YM320P handle different product sizes and shapes?

A: The printer and labeling head height are adjusted via a rotating screw mechanism with a graduated scale, enabling quick changeover between different product heights. The product sensor and labeling head position are adjustable for different product dimensions. For significantly different product types (flat cartons vs. round bottles), the labeling head type (tamp vs. roll-on) can be configured accordingly. Recipe storage in the HMI saves all parameters for quick recall.
