What the PLC Does

The programmable logic controller is the central processing unit of the YM210. It receives inputs from the product-detection sensor, the conveyor encoder, the label-feed motor driver, and the operator's HMI commands. The PLC continuously monitors for fault conditions:

  • Label break or depletion: The label-gap sensor detects the absence of labels on the liner. The PLC stops the machine instantly to prevent unlabeled product from passing downstream. An alarm message appears on the HMI identifying the specific fault.
  • Label jam: If the label-feed motor current exceeds the normal operating threshold — indicating a jam at the peel blade or rewinder — the PLC stops the feed motor and displays a jam-clearance prompt.
  • Product missing: If the expected product does not arrive at the labeling station within the configured timeout window, the PLC suppresses label feed, preventing a label from being dispensed onto the conveyor belt.
  • Emergency stop: A hardwired E-stop circuit bypasses the PLC to cut motor power directly, meeting machinery safety directive requirements.
The HMI Touchscreen: Operator Control Without Complexity

The HMI (human-machine interface) is the touchscreen panel through which the operator interacts with the machine. YIMUPACK uses Weinview or equivalent industrial-grade HMI panels selected for touchscreen durability and sunlight-readable display brightness.
